Mid crimson. Very toasty – stands out in a vintage where oak seems to have been used quite sparingly. Light, scented but the fruit depth needs to be a bit greater to cope with this oak. A little watery in the middle. But it’s juicy and may appeal if you like oak sweetness. (JH)

The 2014 Bourgogne Hautes Côted de Nuits Rouge was showing a bit of reduction when I tasted it. The palate seems nicely balanced and quite piquant, but I will prefer to revisit this at a later date when the reduction had died down.
