The 2015 Riesling Kinheimer Hubertuslay Auslese *** (Golden Capsule) is clear, deep and complex on the nose and opens with ripe but fresh fruit aromas intermixed with herbal notes. Highly elegant, precise and finessed but also rich and lush on the palate, this is a well textured Auslese with super finesse and present acidity but also some fine tannins. This wine is partly fermented in a small barrel, which gives it greater development and a silky textured complexity. It is more dense and concentrated than the Rosenberg, but it also has great finesse and precision. Highly digestible even today, but I wouldn't waste its greatest talents before the wine is fully developed.

Very peachy. A ton of berry notes too, but in spite of the richness and the acacia honey finish, it isn\'t at all heavy. Fresh lemony finish. Already delicious, but if you want to wait 20 years, no problem.

The dry 2015 Riesling Kinheimer Hubertuslay Auslese ** (White Capsule) is from very fine slate soils that give power to the wines (not in terms of alcohol, though). Cool and flinty on the nose, this is a very powerful, rich, concentrated yet pure, elegant and even finessed Riesling with remarkable complexity, salinity and finish. Yes, this is a powerful and rich but also pure and finesse-full Riesling that simply needs to age 5-10 years. In dry vintages like 2015 (and so many more in the past 20 years), the Kinheimer vineyards with their deep slate soils seem to become more and more important. Keep this village on your mind, you will get more and more great Rieslings from here in the future.
