Tasting notes
The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Pucelle 1er Cru has a slightly honeyed bouquet that might just be tinged with botrytis, though not severely. The palate is rounded and juicy on the entry, featuring white peach and orange zest. A slight saltiness emerges on the back palate. The composed, almost musky finish maybe just lacks the persistency of its peers. Give this another year in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Tasted blind, the 2015 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Pucelle was also showing very well, unfurling in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, crisp peach, iodine and pastry cream. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, glossy and textural, with considerable chewy extract and depth, balanced by juicy acids. This has become more reserved since I last encountered it a few months ago, so some patience is advised.
