Score 95/100 · Drink 2016-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2014

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is powerful, rich and intense to the core. Savory herbs, bright red stone fruits, iron, smoke, tobacco and crushed rocks race across the palate in a wine of true class and pedigree. The style is intense and savory, but it is the wine's balance that stands out above all else.

There are 375 cases of the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon The Grade from the Winfield Vineyard, which spent 20 months in French oak. It exhibits a dense purple color in addition to beautiful aromas of crème de cassis, forest floor and spice box, a deep, opulent, multidimensional mouthfeel, tremendous purity and silky tannins. It can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years.
