Score 92/100 · Drink 1998-2019, Robert Parker, Apr 1994

Prunotto has followed the gorgeous 1989 Barolos with three superlative performances in 1990. The 1990 Barolo Bussia is the most closed of the trio of large-scaled, traditionally made wines. Crammed with rich, glycerin-imbued, sweet, jammy fruit, considerable body and extraction, and a monster finish, it needs 4-5 years of cellaring. It is a candidate for 25+ years of aging. Prunotto, now owned by the Tuscan firm of Antinori, continues to turn out superlative examples of Piedmontese wines. Importer: a Leonardo Lo Cascio Selection, Winebow, Inc., HoHoKus, NJ.
