Score 15.5/20 · Drink 2016-2022, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Apr 2012
100% Merlot. The more recently replanted vines. Dark cherry fruit. Some sweet oak. Really silky and fresh. Not a big wine but all in harmony. The tannins are present but so supple it is easy to overlook them. Gently handled. (JH)

About the producer

Chateau Le Gay
There’s been lots of change at Ch. le Gay since the Parent family arrived in 2002 – with vineyards replanted, the cellars renovated and the winemaking adjusted. No surprise, perhaps, that quality is now higher than ever.
