Bright crimson and perfumed. Mouthfilling with dramatic acidity. It has the most structure of all the Meyer-Näkel wines in this tasting, but feels a bit like the steel bones of a new skyscraper before it gets its outer cladding and shape. All angles and elbows at the moment. Green spice and toast out-shouting the sweeter song of the fruit. Keep. (TC)

From loess and loam soils. Really impressive scent: the full spice rack and flower show! Dry, creamy, textural palate with high acid and soft tannins. Slightly noticeable alcohol. (RH)

Pale ruby with shades of plum. The smoky and cedary expression of toasted French oak takes charge of these early stages, the fruit is slightly masked. Nevertheless a rich mouthfeel and full body manage to establish their presence and indicate a generous substance, powerful enough to enter into a successful partnership with the maturing tannins.
