FINE+RARE, Oct 2024
This offers a nose of sweet red fruit, with surprising vibrancy for a wine that is over two decades old. Soft, plump red plum and macerated strawberries entice on the nose, with savoury notes of maturity. On the palate, there’s a rich and vibrant core – impressive in its density, with a supple texture, the fine tannins now fully resolved. There’s lovely freshness here, driving onto the long finish.
About the producer

Robert Ampeau
The epitome of old-school Burgundy, the Meursault-based Domaine Robert Ampeau crafts traditional wines, both red and white. Today run by Michel Ampeau, the property’s wines are – unlike most producers today – only released when they are ready to drink, often with 20-plus years in bottle.
