The 2007s are supposed to be quite soft but this is still extremely tight with massively high acidity and clearly a long way to go. Quite deep gold. Youthful crystalline fruit with a note of menthol. Very carefully sculpted. (JR)

Barrel sample. Quite a tense, exciting nose with some depth. Very nervy – a Puligny of a Charlemagne! Pretty lightweight for a grand cru really. But then it is priced unambitiously too... (JR)
