The 2009 Veneroso bursts from the glass with plums, black cherries, incense, camphor, smoke and licorice. The 2009 is an exiting wine loaded with fruit. It boasts fabulous balance through to the long, polished finish, supported by considerable muscle. The Veneroso is a wine of tremendous personality and character. In 2009 the blend is 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.

It boasts fabulous balance through to the long, polished finish, supported by considerable muscle. The Veneroso is a wine of tremendous personality and character. In 2009 the blend is 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. These are the most impressive wines I have ever tasted from Tenuta di Ghizzano. The wines are made in a fairly non-interventionalist style, starting with organically farmed grapes.
