Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2014-2019, Jancis Robinson MW, Feb 2014

The weathered volcanic soil of the ‘fire mountain’ does not only furnish the Grauburgunder with a tad of smoky minerality, but through its heat retention properties also contributes to a substantial body. This power is expertly harnessed by a noticeable but nevertheless moderate amount of oak. Although a little more time will be needed for all components to integrate, the Feuerberg shows all the hallmarks of a truly Grosses Gewächs. (MS)
