This was definitely the weaker of the two vintages of this wine tasted as a prelude to our Purple Paulée in June 2017. The nose had something green and vegy about it but on the palate it seemed to be losing fruit. The acidity is starting to dominate and this vintage tasted definitely more like Aligoté than Chardonnay, unlike some other vintages. (JR)

Masses of focus and acidity on display initially but the whole is enriched by the vintage's ripeness so that by the end of the bottle it tasted remarkably like a Chardonnay-based white burgundy. A long-distance runner of an Aligoté. (JR)
