Deep straw gold. This is very much a Coche wine even after all this time and even though it’s an Aligoté not a Chardonnay. Racy and yet there is sufficient fruit on the palate. A real eye-opener because this was not from a ripe vintage; this was probably pretty austere when young. Acidity does dominate but it’s fresh and has a little struck-match character. Nervy. Chalky textured. Bravo! (JR)
