Tasting notes
50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Bianco. ‘A promising, regular spring was followed by a cool summer that ended with abundant rainfall in September.’ Harvest 28 August to 4 September. Pungent and not as rich as some but the acidity is keeping it going well. Racy and lively and definitely not like a 100% Chardonnay. (JR)

Brilliant golden straw. Creamy and a touch sweet, and really a bit subdued on the nose. Zingy acidity on the palate and very focused. Oak is evident, but integrated and well judged. Very elegant mouthfeel. Energetic lemony finish with vanilla note and hints of hazelnuts. (WS)
About the producer

Literally translating as “beautiful oak”, Querciabella was created in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni. A pioneer in Chianti, he started farming biodynamically and experimenting with both varieties and winemaking – one result of which was Camartina, the property’s flagship Super Tuscan.
