1989 Tokay Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St Urbain SGN (19 Points F+R) Rich, deep amber colour, with intense aromas of walnuts, treacle, quince jelly and figs. Raisins, sultanas, coffee and honey flavours work together in perfect harmony on the palate. Despite being unctuously sweet, acidity slices through like a knife giving the wine a terrific balance and focus. This is an incredibly complex wine with a magnificently long finish of quince, treacle and truffles. Extraordinary. FINE+RARE 1983 Tokay Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St Urbain (18 Points F+R) The 1983 Tokay-Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St Urbain Vendange Tardive is an amazing, thought-provoking wine. Aromas of exotic fruits, beeswax, honey and a hint of minerality – the nose is more delicate than other wines in the case, but is still very complex. Unctuously rich on the palate with a vibrant acidity and lots of honeyed exotic fruits. Lychees and a hint of smoke linger on the finish. Astonishing how bright and fresh this wine is for a 1983 vintage. FINE+RARE

2000 Tokay Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St Urbain (97 Points WA) A blockbuster of epic proportions, the compelling 2000 Tokay-Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos St.-Urbain has the breadth, body, and depth of a great red wine. This opulently structured offering is full-bodied, velvety-textured, and jam-packed with layers of minerals, smoke, and spice whose flavors seem to gain momentum in its interminable finish. Projected maturity: 2007-2025. Pierre Rovani, Wine Advocate October 2002 1998 Tokay Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St Urbain Vendange Tardive (96 Points WA) The extraordinary 1998 Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos St. Urbain Vendange Tardive has a mouth-watering nose of candied blood oranges lightly dusted with botrytis-caused spiciness. Creamed red, yellow, and white fruits are interspersed with earth, minerals, and gravel in this complex, concentrated, full-bodied behemoth. Its massive personality is well-buttressed by its superb acidity. Additionally, this muscular yet graceful wine has an unbelievably long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2025. Pierre Rovani, Wine Advocate June 2000 1995 Tokay Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St Urbain (97 Points RP) I tasted six dry Tokay-Pinot Gris offerings from Zind-Humbrecht and one Vendange Tardive. As the enthusiastic notes that follow reveal, it is a toss up as to whether Riesling or Pinot Gris was the more successful varietal in 1995. No tasting note given. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate June 1997 1990 Tokay Pinot Gris Rangen Clos St Urbain (96 Points RP) ...It is a phenomenal Tokay-Pinot Gris with spectacular richness, a heavenly perfume of honeyed nuts, smoke, and buttered corn on the cob. The finish must last for well over a minute. The wine is completely dry, exceptionally concentrated and powerful, yet never heavy because of its crisp acidity. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate August 1992
