Rather bitter nose. Sweet start. A bit confected? (Dourthe's pet property.) (JR)

Lively but lots of acidity and pretty chewy. More austere than the 2005s. (JR)

Dark crimson. Sweet almost chocolate raisin-like appeal on the nose. The rich palate entry and reasonably gentle, relatively soft tannins. It’s interesting that, tasting this among a range of Dourthe wines from several different appellations, this is the first to show gentle tannins on the finish. Does this signal good things for the Pessac-Léognan appellation as a whole? (JR)
