Mid ruby with dark centre and surprisingly youthful looking. Very fine, spicy nose, with the beginning of tobacco. Juicy cherry fruit and muscular, powdery tannin. Finish shows pure fruit flavours harnessed by muscular tannin. I love the palate weight of this wine. (WS)

Querciabella

Literally translating as “beautiful oak”, Querciabella was created in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni. A pioneer in Chianti, he started farming biodynamically and experimenting with both varieties and winemaking – one result of which was Camartina, the property’s flagship Super Tuscan.
