Tasting notes
Full cork-stoppered bottle 1,380 g. NB alcohol level! Healthy shaded light to mid garnet colour. Very sweet with only half-resolved tannins. Juicy, very ripe fruit though it still tastes pretty youthful. Still quite tannic so I wonder how the 2012, the vintage that I'm told preponderates in Waitrose stores, tastes? Dry finish suggests this would be best drunk with food. (JR)

It was impossible to extract this cork so it had to be pushed down into the bottle. Ruby with some shading at the rim. High toned and heady. Very round and exciting with herbs and the lightest of frameworks with some fine tannins. Lots of autumn undergrowth. Serious wine at a great price. No hurry to drink this jewel. Long and rich but dry on the finish. GV (JR)
101g/l RS, 4g/l TA. Chocolate, cherry, blackcurrant and plum. Dense and highly tannic. A tar-like quality and a bit of spice emerging. (RH)
