Score 17/20 · Drink 2014-2020, Jancis Robinson MW, Apr 2005
Deep, luminous purple. Lively with some fruit and real zip and fruit. Quite a silky texture rather than real, fruity concentration. A bit hollow. Not glorious. Needs more in the middle but it’s much more forward and charming than the regular cuvée at this stage. (JR)

About the producer

Valandraud
One of the first garage wines, Ch. Valandraud was created by Jean-Luc Thunevin – Saint-Emilion’s “bad boy”. Today the style of the wine is much more restrained, and officially classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate.
