(these "mountain" vines are now 80 years old, according to Niellon) Pure pear and menthol nose shows a cool oyster shell minerality. Chewy and concentrated but extremely unevolved. There's a subtle yellow peach quality here, but the overall impression is of saline minerality. Finishes with enticing aromatic perfume.

Medium yellow. Yellow peach and wet stone on the nose; purer than the Clos Saint-Jean. Juicy, intense flavors of yellow fruits and spices are nicely framed and carried by harmonious acidity. Very well-balanced wine with a persistent, firm finish.
