Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2012-2020, Jancis Robinson MW, Apr 2005
[CS 59%, CF 11%, M 30%. Vinified at low temp for max freshness. Western St Julien plus a bit of Ducru fruit too.] Very dark purple. Quite lively savoury nose and then surprisingly sweet palate entry. Very lush and easy to drink already with very fine tannins. Pretty impressive. Kick of tannins on the finish. Not concentrated enough for the very long term but a fresh, appetising wine for the medium term. (JR)
