Tasting notes
Good deep red. Fresh aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and raspberry, plus hints of iron and underbrush. Juicy and penetrating, with hints of rhubarb and earth, but a bit dominated today by its structure. This showed dusty tannins with aeration and crawled back into its shell. Although not especially primary or sweet in style, it clearly calls for patience.

(not yet racked) Good deep red. Knockout nose combines raspberry, ripe cherry and minerals. Suave, rich and highly concentrated; wonderfully full, even powerful, on the palate without coming off as heavy. This has another dimension. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins and a burst of spice. Very impressive.
Cask sample. Not so deeply coloured, but very rich and smooth and appetising. Cracking. (JR)
