Score 17/20 · Drink 2011-2019, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Jul 2010

The La Tyre vineyard is is half a degree cooler because of the sea breezes. Ripe plum nose, rich, notes of Black Forest gateau. Very concentrated, savoury yet packed with prunes and macerated cherries, hints of chocolate, some coffee. A touch of Thai basil. Very powerful, muscular tannins. A stallion of a wine. (TC)
