Slightly cooler year than 1997 and 2015. 100% new oak. Very similar colour to the 1997. Quite a rich, intense nose with real fruit grip on the mid palate and excellent balance of fruit and acidity. Impressively long. Still lots of pleasure to taste. Lively and pure. (JR)

Pale medium raspberry hue. Rubbery and with quite a lactic expression the nose is still under the thumb of fermentation aromas. The palate reveals a good substance of red fruit complemented by spicy and roasted aromas. A firm tannic structure and excellent length hold great promise despite the present overload of oak. (MS)
