Bright yellow. Very ripe, rich aromas of yellow peach and vanilla lifted by minerality. Impressively full and broad in the mouth (bigger than the 2011 version), displaying a seamless texture and compelling sweetness to the peachy fruit. A strong element of dusty minerality brightens and extends the resounding finish.

The 2010 Meursault Charmes comes across as rich, deep, sensual and totally inviting. Seamless layers of fruit caress the palate as the Charmes opens up. The balance of aromatics, fruit and structure is fabulous. Simply put, everything is in the right place. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (Not yet released) Henri Boillot recently finished his move to a new modern cellar in Champ Lins, one of the industrial sections of Meursault. Boillot describes his 2011s as having a bit more richness and better balance of fruit and acidity than the 2010s. Based on what I tasted, it’s hard to argue that point. Boillot seems to be one case where the 2011s have the potential to be better across the board than the 2010s. As is often the case here, the village wines are particularly strong. (tasted just after the end of the malo): Medium yellow. Sexy aromas of stone fruits and hazelnut. Rich, tactile and dry, with considerable nuance to the flavors of stone fruits, sweet herbs and minerals. These vines are on the Puligny side of Charmes, and it shows in the wine's strong, dusty minerality and classically dry finish. Terrific potential.
