Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon. First vintage under the control of Louis Mitjavile. Bricky red. Gentle, sweet and seductive with the complexity of undergrowth and mushroom but still some dark-red fruit. Tender tannins, lovely cedary spice and that mushroom/fruit combination on the palate. Gentle, caressing, lovely. Soft but still fresh. Utterly drinkable. (JH)
