Drink 0-0, David Schildknecht, Vinous

This takes another jump in acidity, richness and complexity. Does it really makes sense to call such a thing Spätlese? Yes, suggests Müller, for its poise and elegance despite the huge richness, but also because the fruit was still entirely healthy at record‑high Oechsle. Gooseberry preserve, candied lemon and brown spice aromas. Peach preserve, fresh red raspberry and honey chime in on the palate. Vivid, forceful, Eiswein‑like acids and a gripping, pungent finish of fruits and stone accented by horseradish and lemon zest.
