Score 17/20 · Drink 2012-2022, Jancis Robinson MW, Apr 2009

There’s already a bit of development on the rim of this very dark wine. The nose is very complete and apparently unfurled, suggesting the wine is ready to drink but on the palate the tannins area still dry, dusty and a bit rustic. A very solid, characterful if rather uncompromising wine. (JR)

Dark chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant with a certain sweetness to the nose. A little bit green on the palate, not much body either. A bit miserly – the Vin de Pays Cabernet is much more enjoyable. (RH)
