This is Noël Pinguet's favourite wine of the vintage. More intense aromas than Le Haut-Lieu Sec with riper summer fruits and an abundance of jasmine and gardenia blossoms. On the palate, the floral character continues to persist, together with peaches, honey and .a pronounced minerality. Fuller bodied with a slightly more noticeable sweetness and warmth from the alcohol. however this is offset by the fresh acidity. Delicious honeyed finish. FINE+RARE

The clues here were that it smelled as though it was going to be sweet but on the palate was dry with notably high acidity and honey and toast aromas. It was much firmer, more concentrated and presumably longer lasting than the average commercial Vouvray. (JR)
