Good deep red. Complex, musky nose combines black cherry, plum, smoky underbrush, chocolate and spices. Sweet, broad and deep, with expressive flavors of dark plum, redcurrant, strawberry and earth. At once fat and fresh, finishing with sweet tannins and impressive length. Very rich, shapely wine, one of the suavest grand crus I've tasted to date under Magnien's negociant label.

This is quite expressive with a pretty if distinctly animale mix of red berry fruit, warm earth, smoke, game and subtle spice hints that introduce rich, sweet and imposing mouth coating flavors that are delicious, deep, complex and vibrant while displaying notably good balance and strikingly good length. This is very Gevrey with a linear, focused and detailed finish that immediately says "serious". While this is not as classy as the Grands Echézeaux, it offers a different expression that I find every bit as interesting though note that it will need at least a decade to be at its best and it wouldn't surprise me if the final optimal cellar time wasn't 12 to 15 years.

Very, very fresh and lively and sparkling jewelly fruit. Real zest – almost orange peel wake up call! Very complete. (JR)

Ruby-red. Pure aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice. Sweet, creamy and suave but without quite the inner-palate energy of the Suchots. This rather easygoing wine should have considerable early appeal. Finishes creamy and long, with very fine tannins and lingering black fruits.
