Tasting notes
Good medium-deep red. Red and black berries complicated by smoke, leather and underbrush on the nose. Juicy and linear in the mouth; not especially fleshy but has energy and grip, not to mention lovely violety lift. Finishes with firm but rather fine tannins.

Violets, raspberries, and cherries can be discerned in the scent of the light to medium-bodied 2002 Vosne-Romanee. This satin-textured wine displays lovely layers of red cherries in its delightfully flavorful, harmonious character. Its finish reveals some tannin that calls for a year or two of cellaring. Drink it between 2006 and 2011. Importers: A Peter Vezan Selection, Paris fax #011-33-1-42-55-42-93, and also represented by Russell Herman, Berkeley Heights, NJ; tel. (908) 771-9082
Good deep, bright red-ruby. Darker fruit aromas of raspberry and smoke. Rich and fat for a village wine, with sweet flavors of black raspberry and chocolate. Finishes with big but sweet tannins and good length.
Cask sample . Sweet and round, with some really sappy, lively fruit. Very, very respectable and vineyard-driven. (JR)
