According to Antonio Galloni, Napa producer Inglenook’s “2013s show why the vintage is one of the very best in recent times.” And with winemaker Philippe Bascuales being pulled back to Château Margaux to replace the sadly departed Paul Pontallier, the highly-rated wines he produced at Inglenook will be in high demand…

Inglenook’s 2013 Rubicon, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, has received huge scores (and an upscore from Vinous) from a raft of critics:

97 points, “a tremendous showing” – Antonio Galloni
97 points, “the clarity and precision to this wine are phenomenal” – James Suckling
18 points, “…it smells like young Ch Margaux… Extremely classy” – Jancis Robinson

Made by a Château Margaux winemaker, but at available at a fraction of the price of a similarly rated Château Margaux, this is a compelling opportunity for Napa and Left-Bank Bordeaux fans.

Inglenook’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, previously known as Cabernet Sauvignon Cask, is also well worth considering. Hailing from Wine Advocate’s highest-rated North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon vintage and such a prestigious producer, the points to price ratio makes it another compelling buy. With 96 points from Antonio Galloni it “offers exceptional depth and pedigree from the first taste.”
