We are delighted to offer a new parcel - exclusive to FINE+RARE - from Château Puech-Haut, described by Wine Advocate’s Jeb Dunnuck as “easily one of my favourite estates from the South of France.” As Jancis Robinson Puech-Haut punches “well above average Languedoc weight”, and as a result this estate is building quite the cult following in the marketplace...

We are offering the Tête de Bélier (Ram’s Head) range. And when Puech-Haut describe the talisman that lends its name to these wines, you begin to understand the ambition of this estate: “The ram is to Puech-Haut what the sheep is to the Rothschilds.” The red (95 points) and white (92-95 points) come from the excellent 2015 vintage, described by Wine Advocate as: “the strongest vintage for the Languedoc going back to 2010.” The 2016 rosé (92-93 points) is exclusive to FINE+RARE and is one of the highest-rated rosé wines ever by Wine Advocate (top score for a still rosé from any country or vintage is, at the time of writing, 94 points) .

Located just outside Saint Drézéry, Puech-Haut's big game hunting, cigar-smoking owner Gérard Bru has employed a stellar line-up of consultants, including Claude Gros (who has worked with La Fleur Morange), Philippe Cambié (former rugby star, Rhône legend and Robert Parker's Oenologist of the Year 2010) and of course the world famous Michel Rolland. This investment has paid off. The result has been a string of great value, high-scoring, Languedoc-Roussillon-topping and Rhône-rivalling releases, not to mention huge critical acclaim, particularly from Jeb Dunnuck:

“To my palate, this estate is at the top of its game and the wines go from strength to strength, showing what can be achieved with low yields and a focus on making the best wine possible. In addition to incredible quality, the entire line-up is stacked with value… Get them if you can!”

These three wines have all been released at the same release price as the previous vintage, but with higher scores from Wine Advocate...
