Boutique-y Rum

From the desk of

After the phenomenal success of That Boutique-y Whisky Company, I am delighted to offer two highlights from the very first batch releases from That Boutique-y Rum Company.

This is their first foray in to the fast-emerging premium rum category and another clear sign of the growing demand for unique and distinctive rums amongst drinkers and collectors. Having built a reputation for offering an incredible price to quality ratio for their whisky releases, the limited edition small batch nature of their products has led to huge demand for each of their highly collectible releases.

The mission statement for this new venture is to work with specialists in the field, to scour the globe for unusual rum casks, often from distilleries that have long since closed. The result is an extremely tasty collection of rums as they should be, with no added sugars or flavourings to take away from their natural rummy-ness.

That Boutique-y Rum Company – Uitvlugt Distillery, Guyana (Port Mourant Pot Stills)

53.2% ABV

Age - 26 Years Old

Over two decades of aging makes this a well travelled rum, delivering Port Mourant Pot Stills' most characterful notes. Rare and a true collectable, this is an impressive sip. Get ready for a whole load of roasted tropical fruit: pineapple, banana and papaya - with a long, oozing and juicy finish.

Country - Guyana

Nose: A bundle of roasted tropical fruit: pineapple, banana and papaya. It balances beautifully with the rich vanilla and toasted coffee bean notes.

Palate: The estery richness-cask toastiness balance continues with banana bread, honey and cinnamon spice notes dancing in the viscous palate.

Finish: Long, unctuous and oozing with even more of those fruits.

That Boutique-y Rum Company – Enmore Distillery, Guyana (Versailles Pot Still)

51.2% ABV

Age - 27 Years Old

A rare and collectable expression from the Versailles Single Wooden Pot Still's brief stay at the Enmore Estate which has long since closed. After 27 years of ageing in oak casks, this batch carries a characterful distillate taste. A tropical haven of juicy cooked fruits like pineapple, papaya and banana with chocolatey undertones.

Country - Guyana

Nose: Loads of cooked tropical fruit, especially pineapple and papaya. Ripe banana adds depth, and there’s a milk chocolate influence along with the oak.

Palate: Bakewell Tart and banoffee pie, with cooked pineapple and oodles of oak influence. Milk chocolate builds on the sweetness, and there’s a whisper of menthol in there, too.

Finish: Medium length and intriguing, with loads more of that pineapple.
