FINE+RARE buyer Jess Bryans described the 2014 whites as being of “exceptional quality” with “perfect freshness and fruit concentration.” Chardonnay is set to be the star of the show, with winemakers gushing of its classic and energetic character. However, the Indian summer was exactly what the Pinot Noir needed, giving the reds finesse, elegance and delicacy. Browse All En Primeur Releases

Although it started and finished strongly, this vintage was not without its challenges. Therefore, leaning towards the experience of Burgundy’s world famous names – Dujac, Rousseau, Lafon, Vogue, Niellon, Jadot, Montille, Leflaive, Ponsot, Cathiard, Lafarge, Faiveley, Sauzet, Fourrier and Albert Bichot, to name just a few – should stand you in good stead. While Saint-Aubin and Morey-Saint-Denis will offer outstanding value for whites and reds respectively, the big winners will be the Grands Crus. Early standouts appear to be the Côte de Beaune Grands Crus and the exquisite Chablis Grands Crus for whites, and Bonnes Mares for the reds. Competition for the wines from these top regions is likely to be hard fought. Browse Grand Cru Releases
