Independent wine retailers will be looking forward to an upcoming award ceremony that recognises their supply of Domaine Leflaive, Ponsot, Le Montrachet and other fine wines to the UK market.

The Harpers Wine and Spirit Top Merchants awards are set to take place on February 23rd, at London wine museum Vinopolis.

Local and independent UK retailers have been urged to recommend themselves for recognition at this event, which will award achievements across a range of categories including best buying team, best innovation and best wholesaler.

There will be two separate awards for best retailer to distinguish between chains that have fewer and more than three stores.

The closing date for entries has since passed, but merchants were encouraged to put themselves forward for as many categories as they wanted.

Winners will be announced after a wine tasting and will be selected by industry judges at a special ceremony held in the evening.
