The midsummer season often brings a number of weddings, and champagne is often the drink of choice - although couples-to-be have a number of options available to them, a journalist has advised.
Christine Austin of The Yorkshire Post said Will and Kate set the bar with Pol Roger Brut at their wedding, a "welcome" and surprisingly affordable champagne with " light, elegant flavours with a deft touch of toast".
However, there is no reason not to go further afield with your wedding wine selection, and the writer recommended Cloudy Bay Pelorous Rose as a "terrific wine to drink all through a wedding" with "light, cherry and spiced fruit" flavours.
For the meal wines, Ms Austin said it is best to select something with a broad appeal and not too extreme in flavour.
Meanwhile, model Kate Moss has reportedly put crates of 2002 Louis Roederer Cristal champagne on the gifts list for her wedding, which takes place next month.
