Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel was unable to enjoy his victory Champagne after winning the Turkish Grand Prix.
It appears that the reigning world champion had been told before the race that he would not be allowed to enjoy the traditional drink of Champagne Mumm on the podium, as the new legal drinking age in Turkey is 24.
Despite being old enough to be the fastest racing driver on the planet, at the age of 23 he was not old enough to enjoy his Champagne.
"It had been said in the drivers' briefing. The law is 24 and he is 23," confirmed Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner.
Champagne Mumm has been drunk by Formula 1 victors since 2000 as the sport's official brand partner, with the Reims estate saying: "Formula 1 grand prix is the picture of dynamism and the pursuit of perfectionism that typifies the Mumm champagne brand."
