Champagne estate Pierre Legras has released its new Vintage 2002 wine.
The winemakers at Pierre Legras say the new bottle boasts a very expressive gastronomic nose, and is elegant and lively, Drinks Business Review reports.
In addition, the wine is said to be packed full of ripe fruit, including pineapple and grapefruit, with a hint of white blossom and notes of toasted, buttered caramel with a woody undertone.
The wine has been ageing for nine years in cellar, until it was deemed ready for launch onto the market.
Another Champagne estate to have recently released its 2002 vintage is Piper Hiedsieck, which has launched Rare.
Noted wine critic Jay McInerney, writing in the Wall Street Journal, said that Rare is a wine for enthusiasts to look out for as it is "intricate, delicate and nuanced".
He goes on to suggest that that the 2002 Rare could be as good, or perhaps better, than the acclaimed Vintage 1996.
