Mouton-Rothschild producer opens bar in China
The owner of chateau Mouton-Rothschild has launched a new bar in the Chinese province of Guangzhou, close to the border of Hong Kong.
Baron Philippe de Rothschild's (BPDR) partner and importer, Torres China, suggested opening the Mouton Cadet wine bar, which is located in the fashionable Mediterranean restaurant No 9 Garden, decanter.com reports.
Split into three sections including a private room and bistro, the bar will serve chateau Mouton Rothschild, chateau d'Armailhac, chateau Clerc Milon and others from the BPDR's range.
"Currently we sell around 50,000 cases of Mouton Cadet in China, a small part of our overall sales of one million cases, but it is a market that we are increasingly focusing on," BPDR president Xavier de Eizaguirre told the website.
It follows news that Bisol, a producer of premium prosecco, is planning to open a restaurant at its new estate on the Venetian island of Mazzorbo.
