Those with a penchant for Italian wine may be interested in a forthcoming event hosted by the Institute of Masters of Wine, which aims to celebrate the country's wide range of high-quality produce.

The Diversity of Italy will be held at Vintners' Hall in London on September 9th and gives attendees the chance to sample Super Tuscans such as Tenuta San Guido's Sassicaia, as well as two vintages of Pio Cesare Ornato Barolo.

Marchese Piero Antinori, president of the Istituto Grandi Marchi, will host the seminar and tasting, which will include a panel discussion on the challenges facing the Italian wine industry.

"This is a first-class opportunity to update your knowledge of the current issues facing Italian wine and to sample a wide range of wines from among the country's finest producers," the Institute of Masters of Wine website says.

On August 30th, the institute will also host a Champagne tasting in New York, featuring wines from Bollinger, Veuve Clicquot and Krug.
