HK auction includes 30 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose
Fans of Dom Perignon are looking forward to the global launch of Rose Oenotheque, which will be sold in a 30-bottle lot at an upcoming Sotheby's auction in Hong Kong.

Consisting of bottles from 1966, 1978, 1982, 1985, 1988 and 1990, the world premiere release will be sold alongside exclusive lots of Cheval Blanc and chateau d'Yquem.

The 30-bottle lot is expected to fetch up to HK $1,000,000 (£88,000) when it goes under the hammer at Sotheby's Hong Kong on May 21st.

Made from a 50/50 blend of pinot noir and chardonnay grapes from a handful of grands crus, Dom Perignon Rose is aged for a decade to achieve its fullest complexity.

"Dom Perignon Rose Champagne is already a rare jewel, but with the extra maturing period given to the later disgorged Oenotheque Champagnes, the bouquet and taste are even more unforgettable," commented Sotheby's' Master of Wine Serena Sutcliffe.

Last month, it was widely reported that an unnamed Russian billionaire paid a record-setting £36,000 for a Methuselah of Dom Perignon Rose Gold 1996 at the Westbury Hotel's Polo Bar.
