Wine enthusiasts in the US will have the chance to sample Cloudy Bay, Cliff Edge Shiraz and the wines of Joel Gott at a forthcoming festival of food and drink.

Harvest on the Harbour in Portland, Maine, which takes place from October 21st to the 23rd, is designed to promote the town's reputation as a "foodie capital" and will also feature the state's own wine Big Claw, which is designed to be paired with lobster.

Veuve Clicquot Champagne Rose and Carillon Puligny Montrachet also feature on the wine list, which will represent more than 50 producers from around the world - twice the number compared with last year's event.

"Fine wines have certainly always been a part of this prestigious festival, but this year, I urge everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to meet the experts, ask questions and taste some of the most exciting wines," said festival wine director Tom Hansen.

The event will also host the Maine Lobster Chef of the Year competition, as three finalists put their culinary skills to the test.
