Toronto's annual Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival has helped to raise more than C$1,000,000 (£620,000) for neuroscience research.
Now in its sixth year, the event brings together wine enthusiasts from all across the globe to try the very finest wines the world has to offer.
While the guests dined on seared wild boar and Italian truffle flan, the culinary delights were complemented by wines such as a Chateau Margaux 1982 and a Barolo Brunate 2005. Also on offer was a 1995 Chateau Latour.
Through enjoying this wine and food, guests also helped to raise much-needed funds for local medical services.
"This event continues to age much like a fine wine. Each year we set even more aggressive goals than the year before, in terms of the projects we raise funds for, and each year, we meet them," said event organiser Todd Halpern.
Fine wines from across the world are to go up for auction at the Fine Wine Fair 2010 in London later this month, in aid of Help for Heroes.
