Wine lovers travelling to China for business or pleasure may want to take a look at a new fine wine museum opening on the island of Chongming near Shanghai.
The region is fast becoming a haven for fine dining and relaxation with a glass of Bordeaux away from the city's buzzing metropolis, the Drinks Business reports.
Meanwhile the wines that will go on sale at Hong Kong Wine Centre will be second to none, with 30 per cent of the range being fine Bordeaux brands such as Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Latour.
"The place is like a green haven with just resorts and restaurants and we want to have a wine museum there," the Hong Kong Wine Centre president Anthony Wong told the publication.
China's growing appreciation of fine Bordeaux wine has been highlighted by the recent high prices for Chateau Lafite Rothschild in the region, which wine experts have described as "insane".
