A "superlot" of Bordeaux wine has been sold for $320,000 (£186,000) at an auction in the US this month.
The buyer effectively bought a complete cellar of wine with the 50-case offering of First Growth Bordeaux from 1995-2004.
Included in the lot at the Skinner's sale were ten cases of each of the big five Bordeaux labels - Chateau Haut Brion, Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Latour, Chateau Margaux, and Chateau Mouton Rothschild.
A highlight of the sale was a case of 1982 Chateau Lafite Rothschild, which was sold for $48,600 (£30,100), as well as two bottles of 1998 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Montrachet which went for $4,860 (£3,000).
Bordeaux wine also sold well at a recent Acker, Merall & Condit auction held in Hong Kong last week.
The star performer at that particular sale was one of only 24 jeroboams of 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild ever produced which sold for HK$927,200 (£74,000).
