Wine growers from the Bordeaux region continue to enthuse about the 2010 vintage, claiming it to be as good as 2009 and 2005.
Veronique Sanders of Chateau Haut Bailly told the Drinks Business that 2010 has the power of the 2005 offering, the perfect structure of 2009 and the precision of the 2008s.
Didier Cuvelier of Leoville Poyferre added that it was similar to 2005 but with more tannins and freshness, terming it "2005 plus plus".
Nicolas Glumineau of Chateau Montrose even believes that the latest wines are superior to their predecessors. He told the publication: "Although the quality is the same in 2009 and 2010, I think 2010 a more classic year."
Renowned wine critic Robert Parker has also given the 2010 vintage his personal stamp of approval.
Announcing his Bordeaux scores earlier this week, Mr Parker said that 2010, along with 2005 and 2009, is one of the three best vintages he has ever tasted.
