Asian Palate: Wine writer launches new site
Renowned wine and food writer Jeannie Cho Lee has used the Vinexpo event in Hong Kong to launch a new website, using material compiled from 54 notebooks over 15 years.
Currently, AsianPalate.com features the details of more than 7,000 wines, mostly centred on reds and with a particular focus on Bordeaux wines like Le Pin and Leoville Lascases, decanter.com reports.
However, Germany, Burgundy and other wine-producing regions will feature on the site, which also contains advice on pairing food and drink and wine investment.
Ms Cho Lee said she intends to break down the barriers between Asian food and wine, which is often only discussed in terms of an accompaniment to Western meals.
Born in South Korea, Jeannie Cho Lee has written for a number of publications, including Decanter, Wine Spectator and La Revue du vin de France.
Her first book - also called Asian Palate - was published last year.
