China is well-known for its love of Bordeaux, particularly Chateau Lafite, and now a film crew from the country is using the region as the setting for a major feature film.

Cherish Our Love Forever, a hit Chinese TV series, will get the big screen treatment when its two stars reunite in Bordeaux, Agence France-Presse reports.

Part of the action takes place in Saint Emilion, while other scenes are set in the Gonet family vineyards of Chateau Haut Bacalan and Chateau Lesparre.

"Wine estates, castles, [and] life in a chateau seems so far away for us," lead actress Xu Jinglei told the news provider.

"To see how wine estate owners live - it's beyond what I imagined."

It is not the first time artists from the Far East have drawn inspiration from Bordeaux's rural idyll - Reuters recently reported that Puy Chateau owner Jean-Pierre Amoreau has become a celebrity in Japan after the cult comic The Drops of God was adapted for TV.
