The 2011 Vosne-Romanee Village has an entrancing, earthy bouquet that is layered over with raspberry leaf and bergamot scents, hints of cold tea emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy, leafy black fruit. This is a slightly austere, maybe curmudgeonly Vosne-Romanee at the moment and it dips just before the finish line, but there is a pleasant saline aftertaste. Drink now-2018. ||Having been bowled over by the sublime 2012s, the Marie-Christine took me through the domaine’s 2011s, which provided a useful opportunity to compare the two vintages, in particular with respect to the Ruchottes-Chambertin. eRobertParker.com.February, 2014
